CUET
Each central university had a distinct mechanism for taking admissions into their UG programs. In order to unify this process, the MoE along with the UGC has introduced CUET (The full form of CUET is Common University Entrance Test), which is a common exam for UG admissions into all the central and many other universities of India. The Test will be conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) once a year.

CUET Eligibility Criteria
The official notification for CUET 2024 (information bulletin) containing detailed information regarding the same has not yet been released. It is expected to be announced in the first week of January 2024 on the official website of CUET. Going by last year’s brief guidelines regarding CUET eligibility criteria for filling out the CUET form and appearing in the test, there will be no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12th/equivalent examination or are appearing in 2024 irrespective of their age can fill out the CUET form 2024 (UG).
However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University to which they are desirous of taking admission for their UG.
Key Points Regarding CUET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
- Each of the participating universities is free to decide its own parameters of CUET eligibility criteria for UG admissions.
- The weightage of the CUET scores will be at the sole discretion of admission into any participating university of CUET 2024.
- As of date, CUET 2024 eligibility criteria do not mention an age limit. However, Universities can decide on minimum & maximum age limits for admissions to all (or any) of the UG programs on offer.
- For UG admission to Universities through CUET – 2024, the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservation policy, qualification, subject combinations, preferences, etc. of the respective University shall be applicable.
- As the CUET eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the respective University website to which they are applying and check it before filling out the CUET form.
- Mere appearance in the CUET or securing passing marks in the test does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission to any particular program unless he/she fulfills the Program-wise eligibility conditions of the University to which they are applying.
CUET Syllabus
NTA in its official announcement stated that the CUET exam syllabus for 2024 will be the same as the complete NCERT class 12 syllabus for respective subjects. Students must note carefully that the CUET syllabus is the NCERT class 12 syllabus but not any particular Board (CBSE or ICSE) class 12 syllabus.
